SCOPE’s Interactive Session decodes New Labour Codes

Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) organised an Interactive workshop on the Implementation of the Labour Codes with the support of the Ministry of Labour & Employment, GoI. Dr. Mahendra Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment, GoI (MoLE); Shri K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman, SCOPE & CMD, NBCC and Shri Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE addressed the inaugural session and highlighted the importance of Labour Codes. Attended by over 160 participants from over 40 PSEs, the inaugural session also saw a presentation from Knowledge Partner, Ernst & Young, on the specific provisions of the Labour Codes.

Following this, panel discussion was held with Ms. Richa Sharma, Director, MoLE; Dr Onkar Sharma, Former Chief Labour Commissioner; Shri Ayush Gupta, Director (HR) GAIL and Shri K. K. Singh, Director (Personnel), SAIL providing a comprehensive brief on the implementation of the new labour law framework.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Mahendra Kumar hailed the new labour codes as a historic milestone for worker welfare. He highlighted the objectives of the new framework and also gave insight into key provisions of the Labour Codes. He also lauded SCOPE’s role in demystifying the reforms and fostering a collaborative dialogue among diverse stakeholders.

Shri K. P. Mahadevaswamy in his address stated that reforms mark a significant leap for India, fostering a labour ecosystem that is transparent, trust-based, and globally aligned, all while ensuring steadfast social justice. He also added that SCOPE will continue to play a leading role in knowledge dissemination and capacity building to enable PSEs to transition to the new framework with understanding.

Mr. Atul Sobti addressing the workshop, lauded the newly introduced labour codes, and also emphasized the pivotal role that the Public Sector can play in ensuring effective implementation of the Codes. He further reaffirmed SCOPE’s commitment as a pivotal integrated partner ensuring wider reach of knowledge, understanding and clarity on Labour Codes through a series of specialized programs across all regions of the country.

SCOPE welcomes Implementation of Four Labour Codes by Government of India

Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) welcomes the landmark implementation of the four Labour Codes by the Government of India, marking a historic step towards simplifying, rationalizing, and modernizing the country’s labour law framework. Shri Atul Sobti DG, SCOPE wholeheartedly welcoming this progressive move said, “SCOPE remains committed to supporting PSEs in ensuring smooth and effective implementation. The Labour Codes will significantly contribute in building Viksit & Aatmanirbhar Bharat, ensuring that India’s economic growth remains inclusive, equitable, and future ready.”

SCOPE has been an active participant in various consultative processes and stakeholder discussions leading to the formulation of the Labour Codes, contributing perspectives from the public sector and supporting the Government’s reform agenda.

The four Labour Codes—on Wages, Industrial Relations, Social Security, and Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions — are poised to bring transformative changes that safeguard the interests of all categories of workers across formal and informal sectors. By expanding social security coverage, strengthening worker protection, promoting gender equality, and enabling a more conducive environment for industry and employment growth, these reforms embody the spirit of social justice and inclusive development.

SCOPE APSE holds latest Executive Development Program

With an aim to equip executives of CPSEs with requisite skills for navigating the complex and volatile market environment, Shri Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE inaugurated the SCOPE Academy of Public Sector Enterprises (APSE)’s Executive Development Program for Junior and Mid-Level Executives of CPSEs.

A total of 35 executives hailing from 16 CPSEs across the country participated in the week-long training program, themed The Career Journey to Personal Effectiveness. Smt. Sangeeta Ramrakhyani, Director (HR), Central Warehousing Corporation and Member, SCOPE Executive Board addressed the concluding session and distributed certificates to the participants.

SCOPE As part of its capacity building endeavor, SCOPE regularly facilitates workshops for employees across all organizational levels.

SCOPE holds 51st AGM, outlines initiatives to strengthen Public Sector for a Viksit Bharat

Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), the apex body of PSEs convened its 51st Annual General Meeting (AGM) recently. Addressed by Shri K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman, SCOPE & CMD, NBCC; Shri Brajesh Kumar Upadhyay, Vice-Chairman, SCOPE & CMD, Goa Shipyard Ltd. and Shri Atul Sobti, DG, SCOPE, before a large audience of CMDs, Directors, and senior officials, the AGM highlighted key strategic initiatives from the past year and the apex body’s vision ahead.

The AGM showcased SCOPE’s various initiatives including launch and membership drive of the SCOPE Social Interaction Centre, SCOPE’s offerings in robust leadership development including DAKSH and AGLP 2.0, designed to create future-fluent leaders and SCOPE’s instrumental role in enhancing the PSE ecosystem, exemplified by the prestigious SCOPE Awards.

The meeting also underscored SCOPE’s critical role in policy advocacy and its success in leveraging international platforms like the ILO and OECD along with pivotal national platforms including EPFO, ESIC, DTNBWED etc. to benchmark PSEs with global practices, while actively promoting sustainable greening pathways and its various collaborations with national and international institutes to accentuate knowledge.

Looking ahead to strengthen PSEs role in Viksit Bharat, SCOPE outlined a clear vision focused on continuing its effective policy advocacy, developing future-fluent leaders, and skilling for a sustainable future. The future outlook also includes promoting its arbitration wing, SFCA, and expanding its outreach to uphold its guiding vision for a robust public sector.

SCOPE Commends Ministry of Labour & Employment for Progressive EPFO Reforms

Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), an apex body of PSEs, has commended the Ministry of Labour & Employment for introducing progressive reforms in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), aimed at enhancing Ease of Living for crores of members.

The reforms, which merge thirteen complex provisions into three simplified categories, ensure faster, simpler, and more transparent withdrawal processes. The reduction of minimum eligible employment period for withdrawals from upto seven years to one year, and the facility for members to withdraw up to 75% of eligible amount at any time without documentation and full withdrawal under special situations are landmark measures towards member empowerment and procedural ease.

SCOPE also appreciated the Ministry’s initiative to extend the premature final settlement period to 12 months, a prudent step to promote long-term financial well-being, and to revise withdrawal benefit rules under EPS to encourage continuity and secure future pension benefits.

These comprehensive and citizen-centric reforms strike a fine balance between accessibility and financial prudence, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to inclusive social security and welfare of the workforce.

MoEFCC, SCOPE & GIZ Germany organise outreach workshop on Climate Action Goals

Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) and GIZ, Germany organised an outreach workshop on Leadership Group for Industry Transition or LeadIT, a global initiative for industry decarbonisation. Shri Atul Sobti DG, SCOPE; Shri Shantanu Roy, CMD, BEML and Member, SCOPE Executive Board; Shri Tajender Gupta, Director (Power), BHEL; Smt. Ruchika Drall, Deputy Secretary (Climate Change), MoEFCC;  Ms. Cecilia Tall, Counsellor, Innovation & Science, Sweden Embassy in India; Mr. Sebastian Borchmeyer, First Secretary, German Embassy in India; and Dr. Alexander Fisher, Project Lead, International Climate Initiative (IKI) , GIZ addressed the participants. The event also brought together senior government officials, industry leaders, and international representatives from Sweden and Germany to deliberate on utilising the platform of LeadIT to forge international collaborations, engage in innovation and understand possible financial arrangements to encourage transition of heavy-industry sector to a low emitting sector. The workshop was participated by over 40 participants from nearly 20 organisations including public and private sector

The Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT) launched at the UN Climate Action Summit in 2019, is supported by the World Economic Forum and aims to create synergy amongst countries and companies to achieve net-zero carbon emissions from heavy industry by 2050.

SCOPE pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on birth anniversary

Commemorating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) paid a floral tribute at SCOPE Convention Centre, New Delhi, and Shri Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE, garlanded the statue of the father of our nation. He said that, “Mahatma Gandhi’s life is not just a chapter in our history; it’s a living guide for ethical governance and social responsibility.” DG, SCOPE added that, “this occasion serves as a powerful reminder for all to reflect on Bapu’s enduring teachings of truth, integrity, and selfless service.”

Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) organised a Health Program & Screening Camp under the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ organised in collaboration with Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals. Shri Atul Sobti, DG, SCOPE; Smt. Kranti E. Khobragade, Director, DPE, Ministry of Finance and Smt. Sangeeta Ramrakhyani, Director (Personnel), CWC and Member, SCOPE Executive Board inaugurated the program. Featuring health and awareness sessions and a health screening camp by medical experts, the program was addressed by medical experts’ team of Dr. Pakhee Aggarwal, Sr. Consultant, Gynaecology & Oncology and Dr. Vanita Arora, Sr. Consultant, Cardiac Electrophysiology, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals. Over 100 participants from several PSEs attended the program.

This initiative underscores SCOPE’s dedication to embedding a culture of preventive healthcare, directly promoting the holistic well-being of employees, especially women workforce in the public sector.

SCOPE launches Advanced Global Leadership Program (AGLP 2.0)

Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE)’s Advanced Global Leadership Program (AGLP 2.0) in collaboration with IIM, Calcutta was inaugurated by Shri Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE & ILO Governing Body Member in the presence of Prof. R. Rajesh Babu, Dean (Executive Education), IIM Calcutta, along with Prof. Prashant Mishra and Prof. Biswatosh Saha, the Program Directors in Kolkata recently. With participation from 38 senior executives across 13 PSEs reflecting a rich mix of sectors and industries, AGLP 2.0 will be conducted over three weeks entailing Workshops at IIM, Calcutta and SCOPE, New Delhi and an International Study-cum-Business Tour.

Inaugurating the program, Shri Atul Sobti highlighted the pivotal role of leadership in driving excellence and innovation in PSEs. He emphasized SCOPE’s commitment to building future-ready leaders who are aligned with national priorities and global standards. Prof. Rajesh Babu reiterated IIM Calcutta’s continued focus on executive development and its long-standing collaboration with SCOPE in nurturing visionary public sector leaders.

In keeping with the prerogative of building a unique cadre of global leaders in PSEs, AGLP 2.0 is designed to forge the next generation of Board-level leaders for PSEs. By instilling strategic foresight, a global outlook, and adaptive leadership, the program empowers participants to navigate complex challenges and drive public sector transformation.

Hon'ble President of India confers SCOPE Eminence Awards to PSEs

CPSEs will play an important role in achieving national goal of building a developed India by 2047: Hon’ble President Murmu

The Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, conferred the SCOPE Eminence Awards at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The event was organized by the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), with the support of the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), Ministry of Finance and was held in the presence of Shri Pankaj Chaudhary, Minister of State for Finance and Shri K. Moses Chalai, Secretary, DPE; Shri K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman, SCOPE, and Shri Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE, were also present. The programme witnessed the presence of senior government officials from various Ministries and departments, top leadership of Public Sector enterprises (PSEs), and representatives from national and international partner organizations of SCOPE.

Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble President, Smt. Droupadi Murmu said that the SCOPE Eminence Awards are a celebration of the significant contribution of public sector enterprises to the development of India. Appreciating the public sector and its leaders, she said that they have been performing well on all parameters including social, economic, environmental, technological and ethical. She appreciated SCOPE for honouring good performance across multiple dimensions such as women empowerment, sustainable development, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility and innovation.

The President said that the Public Sector has been a powerful vehicle for economic development and social inclusion. She expressed confidence that CPSEs will play a crucial role in achieving the national goal of building a developed India by 2047.

While appreciating the effective role of CPSEs in Aatmanirbhar Bharat and ‘Make in India’ campaigns, the President said that during Operation Sindoor, the indigenous Air Defence Control and Reporting System – Akashteer demonstrated its infallible capability.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Finance, Shri Pankaj Chaudhary said the public sector has come a long way, since their inception, and have played a strategic role in nation building. He stressed that even in times of uncertainty and crisis, the performance of the PSEs remained consistent and they are on the path of sustained growth.

Shri K. Moses Chalai, Secretary, DPE said CPSEs have played a pivotal role in fostering growth and socio-economic development of the country. While engaging around 15 lakh people in direct employment, and indirectly supporting millions of livelihoods across the country, he said that the Public Sector shoulders the dual responsibility of nation-building and economic growth. In the new ecosystem of perform or perish, CPSEs have to perform and maintain competitiveness all the time.

Speaking on this occasion, Chairman, SCOPE, Shri K. P. Mahadevaswamy said the CPSEs have facilitated sustainable development and remain high on trust index. He reiterated that SCOPE continues to play a catalytic role in building capacities – aligning with the global goals of excellence and ensuring cohesive policy and business environment for the public sector to thrive and succeed.

While welcoming the Hon’ble President of India, Director General, SCOPE, Shri Atul Sobti emphasized that the public sector enterprises have evolved into globally recognised, highly competitive and formidable contributors to India’s socio-economic growth. In this journey, SCOPE has been strengthening the fraternity and it is our responsibility to continue being a catalyst for self-reliant, prosperous and equitable Bharat, he said.

Hon’ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu to confer SCOPE Eminence Awards

Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), the apex body of Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) is set to host the prestigious SCOPE Eminence Awards, with the support of Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), on 29th August, 2025 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, will confer the awards in presence of Minister of State for Finance Shri Pankaj Chaudhary and Shri K. Moses Chalai, Secretary, DPE. SCOPE Eminence Awards is an endeavour to commemorate the remarkable achievements and contributions of PSEs across multiple domains and represents one of the highest honours for the Public Sector. It is part of SCOPE’s continued efforts towards recognizing Public Sector’s role as nation builders.

SCOPE holds strategic discussion with ILO & IOE

Fostering global employer relations, SCOPE leadership, Mr. K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman, SCOPE and CMD,NBCC, and Mr. Atul Sobti, DG, SCOPE held strategic meeting with Mr. Roberto Suárez Santos, Secretary General, International Organisation of Employers (IOE), Geneva; Ms. Michiko Miyamoto, Director, International Labour Organization (ILO) South Asia and Mr. Ravindra Peiris, Senior Specialist, ILO in presence of senior representatives from ILO and SCOPE.

During the deliberations, it was identified that SCOPE, ILO and IOE need to work closely on developing capacities of the employers in India through micro credentials , skill building with enhanced focus on just transition and developing awareness about responsible business conduct . ILO and IOE have extended their cooperation to SCOPE to strengthen its membership through frequent engagements.

SCOPE & CBC’s Leadership Program ‘DAKSH’ – Educational Immersion at IIM Ahmedabad

Marking a significant milestone for Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) and the Capacity Building Commission (CBC)’s flagship leadership program ‘DAKSH,’ Shri Adil Zainulbhai, Chairman, CBC; Shri Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE; Dr. Alka Mittal, Member, CBC; and Prof. Bharat Bhasker, Director, IIM Ahmedabad, addressed participants during the first educational immersion session held at IIM Ahmedabad. Senior officials of knowledge partner McKinsey and academic partner IIM Ahmedabad were also present.

This six-day immersive educational experience at IIM Ahmedabad features faculty-led sessions, case analyses, interactive discussions, and peer-to-peer learning, exemplifying a robust collaboration between industry and academia. The inaugural batch of DAKSH comprises around 75 high-potential senior executives from diverse Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) reflecting the program’s commitment to building future-ready leadership for India’s public sector.

SCOPE and Capacity Building Commission sign agreement for DAKSH Leadership Program with IIM Indore and Egon Zehnder

Advancing the commitment of establishing a future-ready leadership pipeline within PSEs through DAKSH Leadership program, Shri Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE; Shri S.P. Roy, Joint Secretary, Capacity Building Commission signed an agreement with Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore; and Shri Rahul Rana, Partner, Egon Zehnder for the second batch of program.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Chairman, CBC, Shri Adil Zainulbhai, who joined virtually, Smt. Alka Mittal, Member CBC, Shri Ayush Gupta, Director HR, GAIL, Shri K. K. Singh, Director (Personnel), SAIL and senior officials from CBC, SCOPE, and PSEs.

SCOPE and CBC are collaborating with Egon Zehnder as Knowledge Partner and IIM Indore as Academic Partner for the second batch of DAKSH, a one-of-its-kind leadership development initiative meticulously designed to create a cadre of high-performing leaders, ready to take on strategic and board-level roles in PSEs. The inaugural cohort of DAKSH with around 75 high-potential senior executives from various PSEs across the country are currently undergoing learning immersions with McKinsey and IIM Ahmedabad as Knowledge and Academic Partner respectively.

SCOPE conducts Seminar with ICAI on SEBI Compliance (LODR 2.0)

A seminar on SEBI Compliance organized by Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), in collaboration with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) at SCOPE Complex, New Delhi was inaugurated by Shri Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE along with CA Anuj Goyal, Central Council Member, ICAI. Attended by over 60 participants from 30 PSEs and addressed by domain & industry experts, the seminar aimed at equipping participants with insights into decoding SEBI Compliance on Listing Obligation and Disclosure requirements, amendments (LODR 2.0) and their practical implementation into corporate strategy and reporting.

This seminar marks another step in SCOPE and ICAI’s joint commitment to enhancing financial acumen and promoting sustainability practices within Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs).

SCOPE & ICAI Sign MoU to foster capacity building and knowledge exchange

Shri Atul Sobti, DG, SCOPE and CA Charanjot Singh Nanda, President, ICAI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) fortifying a commitment towards professional development, policy advocacy, and thought leadership in the financial and corporate governance landscape. SCOPE and CBC Launch DAKSH Leadership Program

Inaugural batch comprises 75 high-potential senior executives from various PSEs

Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) and Capacity Building Commission (CBC) launched the first-of-its-kind ‘DAKSH’ leadership program with the key objective of developing a cadre of Future fluent PSE leaders. Shri Arunish Chawla, Secretary, DIPAM inaugurated the program in the presence of Shri Adil Zainulbhai, Chairman, CBC; Smt. Soma Mondal, Member, PESB; Shri K.P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman, SCOPE and Chairman, NBCC; Shri Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE and Dr. Alka Mittal, Member, CBC. The inauguration was also graced by CMDs, Directors of PSEs; Senior officials of DPE, CBC, PSEs and Knowledge partners. The inaugural cohort being delivered along with knowledge partners McKinsey & Company and IIM Ahmedabad comprises of 75 high-potential senior executives from various PSEs across the country.

DAKSH, conceptualised by SCOPE and CBC shall be delivered along with renowned consultants, academicians as knowledge partners in multiple batches. The learning journey of every batch of DAKSH is spread over 18 months, entailing a curated blend of Individual Development Plans, classroom learning, live projects, coaching and immersions.

SCOPE inks MoU with Harvard Business School Publishing Corporation fostering a culture of continuous learning

Mr. Atul Sobti, DG, SCOPE and Mr. Douglas Beimler, VP, Global Sales, HBSP, USA inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) and Harvard Business School Publishing Corporation (HBSP), USA, a subsidiary of Harvard Business School to leverage synergies aimed at fostering a culture of continuous learning for Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs). The MoU was signed in the presence of senior officials from both the organisations and PSEs, with the aim to develop a culture of excellence and innovation within the Public Sector, ensuring its alignment with global best practices in learning and leadership development.

SCOPE Biennial Elections 2025-27 results declared

Results of SCOPE Biennial Elections 2025-27 were declared by Shri Atul Sobti, Director General, Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) and Returning Officer, in the presence of representatives of Member Public Sector Enterprises. The newly elected SCOPE Executive Board will assume office from 1st April 2025.

As per the results declared, Shri K. P. Mahadevaswamy, CMD, NBCC (India) Ltd. has been elected as Chairman, SCOPE. Shri Brajesh Kumar Upadhyay, CMD, Goa Shipyard Ltd. has been elected as Vice Chairman, SCOPE.

National Meet of Forum of WIPS held under aegis of SCOPE

National Meet of the Forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS), under the aegis of Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), was organized in New Delhi, centred around the theme ‘Create Your Own Sunshine.’ The National Meet was addressed by Chief Guest, Smt. Vijaya K. Rahatkar, Chairperson, National Commission for Women and Guest of Honour Shri Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE & Member, Governing Body, ILO in the presence of Smt. SCOPE and Capacity Building Commission sign agreement with Top Academia, and Consultants for DAKSH Leadership Program

Marking the launch of DAKSH (Development of Aspiration, Knowledge, Succession & Harmony), a pioneering Leadership Development Program, Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) and Capacity Building Commission (CBC), GoI signed an agreement with McKinsey & Co. and IIM- Ahmedabad as Knowledge and Academic partner respectively for developing dynamic leaders in the Public Sector. The agreement was signed by Shri Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE; Shri S.P. Roy, Jt. Secy., CBC; Prof. Saral Mukherjee, Chairperson, Executive Education, IIM Ahmedabad; Shri Amit Khera, Senior Partner, McKinsey in the presence of Shri Adil Zainulbhai, Chairman, CBC, Shri Sandeep Kr. Gupta, Chairman, SCOPE and senior representatives from Public Sector & CBC.

SCOPE decodes Union Budget 2025

Decoding the announcements of Union Budget 2025, Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) organized a session with economic, financial and taxation experts in association with Deloitte. Prof. N. R. Bhanumurthy, Eminent Economist and Shri Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE addressed the program.

A detailed analysis of various aspects of the Budget including new provisions and amendments in Taxation was presented by subject matter experts from Deloitte. Nearly 200 participants from different Public Sector Enterprises attended the program through hybrid mode, including SCOPE’s various social media platforms.

SCOPE (Standing Conference of Public Enterprises), an apex body of Public Sector Enterprises compliments the Hon’ble Finance Minister in presenting a progressive reform oriented holistic budget that addresses all stakeholders of the economy. Mr. Atul Sobti, Director General SCOPE and Member, Governing Body ILO appreciated the Budget as it gave a directional push to both consumption and investment by enabling businesses, increasing spending power and for the first time addressing welfare of Gig Workers. “The Budget 2025 is a progressive budget as it strengthens inclusive development through a series of action-oriented reforms targeted to accelerate manufacturing, modernise agriculture and give due impetus to skilling & innovation thereby bolstering growth for a Viksit Bharat.” he said.

Highlighting the role of PSEs in the developmental journey of the country, he added that given the presence of the Public Sector in strategic areas they shall continue to play a pivotal role in priority areas of investment, manufacturing, skilling, innovation and sustainable development while contributing effectively towards export promotion and support to the MSMEs.

SCOPE and HSSC Forge Strategic MoU to Enhance Skill Development in India’s Hydrocarbon Sector

Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) and Hydrocarbon Sector Skill Council (HSSC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive skill development initiatives within the hydrocarbon sector. MoU signed between Shri Atul Sobti, DG, SCOPE and Member, Governing Body, ILO, and Shri S.K. Bose, CEO, HSSC, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations, aims to bridge skill gaps and enhance workforce capabilities across the hydrocarbon and allied sectors.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Shri Atul Sobti highlighted that in today’s rapidly evolving professional environment, skills are the most valuable asset and to remain competitive, individuals must continuously upskill, reskill and unlearn outdated practices. He stressed that significant transformation is underway, with the global focus shifting towards Just transition and with electric vehicles poised for widespread adoption, there’s a pressing need to not only focus on current skill sets but also to prepare for the emerging skills required in the Hydrocarbon Sector.

Shri S.K. Bose highlighted that this MoU not only presents a valuable opportunity for collaboration with SCOPE, but also aligns with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s visionary call to transform India into a Global Skill Hub.

SCOPE continues to collaborate with strategic partners toward fostering a culture of continuous learning and capacity enhancement in PSEs. This MoU not only focuses on bridging existing skill gaps, but also aims to address current industry challenges, along with preparing the workforce for future challenges in the hydrocarbon and allied sectors.

SCOPE HSSC MoU

SCOPE & GIZ launch certification course and dedicated webpage on Climate Change and Climate Action

Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), an apex body of Indian PSEs, along with GIZ, Germany, a public benefit federal enterprise, has launched first of its kind self-paced advance course on Climate Change and Climate Action to enable the workforce of the Public Sector fraternity to gain formal certification on the subject. The course is supported by International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Government and certified by them along with SCOPE and GIZ, Germany. SCOPE also launched its dedicated webpage on Climate Action enabling PSEs to gain information and engage in peer learning through a single portal.

The advanced course has been designed to develop an understanding about the various aspects of Climate Change and possible actions available to combat the same. The webpage aims to be a single point of information repository entailing Climate initiatives of PSEs, International developments on sustainability and access to important publications and knowledge repositories on the important subject of Climate Action.

Both the initiatives aim at strengthening the PSEs with necessary tools to learn about Climate Change while also providing them a platform to showcase their achievements while also synergizing with peers.
